Estonian Music Days. Baltic Music Days

2021-04-30T16:00:00Z – 2021-04-30T18:00:00Z

Description

This concert is the culmination of the Estonian Music Days and the Baltic Music Days in the Estonia Concert Hall, where the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, and soloists under the baton of Mihhail Gerts will perform Mariliis Valkonen’s chamber opus, Kristjan Kõrver’s overture-like piece, a composition by Malle Maltis combining the symphony orchestra and electronics, grand works of Evelin Seppar and Alisson Kruusmaa for chamber choir and symphony orchestra, and modern pieces from Latvia and Lithuania. The opuses of Estonian composers were ready by the Estonian Music Days that were supposed to take place a year ago, but unfortunately, plans had to change and the audience can enjoy them only now.

Baltic Music Days
Developing a contemporary music network within the Baltics is our common wish, therefore, the Estonian Composers’ Union, the Latvian Composers’ Union and the Lithuanian Composers’ Union are joining forces to tighten the musical ties. Estonian Music Days, a festival with 42 years of history, will bring together the first edition of Baltic Music Days 2021 which will take place in Estonia. The following festivals are planned in Kaunas (2022), in Riga (2023), and again in Tallinn (2024).

The winner of the New Music Award LHV Au-tasu 2021 will be announced at the concert.
